Motion Experiments

These are a few motion experiments I made for different assignments. I’m still learning the craft, but I tend to think in motion — it’s how I make sense of ideas. Each piece is a small step in figuring out how movement can tell a story or capture a feeling.

The Silent Patient -
Mentor: Sean Dong
An interactive project inspired by the novel The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides, a psychological thriller about a woman who stops speaking after a traumatic event. Drawing on the book’s parallels with the Greek myth of Alcestis, the work explores narrative and perspective, using subtle visual and interactive cues to immerse the viewer in the story’s tension and psychological depth.

The Deadlinosaur
Mentor: Sean Dong
A short film on a fictional character; ‘Deadlinosaur’.  Deadlinosaur is a short motion piece styled like a nature documentary, observing a creature that only appears when deadlines approach. Inspired by David Attenborough’s calm narration, the project plays with timing and pacing to contrast the serene tone of a wildlife film with the chaos and anxiety of creative work under pressure.

Spore Magazine - Promotional
Mentor: Jeff Glendenning
A fast-paced promo for Spore Magazine, using bold collage visuals, warped typography, and rhythmic editing to capture the magazine’s playful, exploratory take on plants. The video is all about energy, movement, and letting the visuals tell the story.

Pink Panther
Mentor: Sean Dong
A motion experiment visualising the opening track of The Pink Panther. Instead of traditional shapes, I mapped the beats using words, exploring how typography and timing can follow rhythm and create a playful, musical experience.
